"The Church at the Head of Wall Street"

The Rev. Christy Close Erskine

Christy was born and raised on Mercer Island, WA, near Seattle. She’s the youngest of six children and until moving to Vancouver, WA, she spent most of her adult life in the Seattle/Tacoma area, with a few years in Alaska. She originally graduated from the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, as an Occupational Therapist. Later she went to the University of Washington where she received her MBA, specializing in organizational development and marketing. She worked for many years in healthcare management before her call to ordained ministry.

She went to seminary at Yale Divinity School ( Berkeley Divinity School at Yale) and was ordained in 1994. Prior to coming to Trinity Episcopal Church she served as the Associate at Church of the Good Shepherd in Vancouver, WA. Christy has always been active in the Episcopal Church and is passionate about helping people truly understand just how much God loves them. She believes that our call to ministry occurs at our baptism and that the rest of our lives is spent living into that ministry as we reach out to do the work that God gives us to do, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

Christy is married to Jack Erskine who is also an Episcopal priest. Jack’s passion for ministry involves teaching, preaching and writing. They have three children, Eliza (19) currently a sophomore at Boston University, Sophie (16) and Joshua (10). They love outdoor adventures, watching movies, traveling, reading and spending time together as a family.

She is thrilled to be at Trinity and believes that God has called us together in ministry at this particular time. If you don’t currently have a church home, she hopes that you will consider joining us at Trinity!
