So… if you came here hoping to see the itinerary for the trip, GOTCHA!! You know better. The itinerary is a closely held secret, made known only as the trip unfolds. It’s part of what keeps your minds open and ready for the next bit of knowledge or the next amazing experience.

If you came wondering how you can be involved in the required fundraising activities, THAT’s a different story!!

Here’s the plan:

April 22nd – Dinner and Entertainment Extravaganza!
At Trinity Episcopal Church in the Family Kitchen space.
Spaghetti Dinner – cooked, served and cleaned up by the team. Entertainment and BYC-themed talks by students as well.
Expected involvement is from 4:30 – 9p. Please let me know if you are wishing to be a part of the presentation as well.

April 28th, May 5th and May 12th – Rent-a-Teen Work Parties
We have four scheduled already! Please let me know what days/times you’re available (some are all day, others are 8:30-1 or 1-5. For this fundraiser, you will be directly rewarded for time spent. If you only work for 4 hours, you will only get 1/6 of the total available to workers. Work all day all three Saturdays and you’ll get the maximum amount available!

May 21st – Scholarship Brewfest/Basket Raffle
Guess what!? Ron, Greg and Donna are handling this one. If you can encourage someone to donate a fabulous themed basket to raffle, we’d appreciate it. Otherwise, this one is for the adults only!!

Stock Certificate Sales – ongoing
You can sell stock at church or via an email or direct mail campaign of your own design. Stock certificate attached. Checks made out to Trinity Episcopal Church with BYC D.C. trip in the note section.

If anyone is having difficulty coming up with the deposit, please let me or one of the other leaders know!

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Donna here!

I’m so excited about the upcoming program year for Trinity. Our Family Ministries Commission spent the summer reviewing information from the Family Ministries Survey and from the Liturgy Possibilities Committee and came up with slight, yet important changes that will help enhance our Sunday Morning worship experiences.

This year, we begin with Godly Play classes being offered DURING the 10:15am worship service. This should make the entry point for young families much more smooth. For those with kids of mixed ages, we still have something for the 3 – 8 year olds during the Sunday Morning Education hour (which starts at 9:15am). They’ll be in Active Apostles – a bit more movement, yet still a meaningful time of worship.

The Bend Youth Collective starts back up again on Monday, September 12th for High School and Wednesday, September 14th for Middle School. I just can’t say enough about how amazing this group is. I wish there was something like this when I was growing up! We’re looking forward to our second year. This time around, we’ll be announcing our High School and Middle School Summer of 2012 trips early!

Blessings to all of you as we begin our new program year! And, please be sure to thank a volunteer the next time you see them. It takes over 20 people to keep our morning programs going – and that’s the skeleton crew. If you’re interested in joining in, please let me know!

With love,
Donna
