About Our Youth Programs
At Trinity, "Youth" spans many developmental hurdles. Since different ages have unique needs we have arranged our programs in a way that honors all. Our desire with all programs is to give each young person a solid grounding in the Christian faith while respecting their personal journey with God.
Prep Squad
Middle and High School Youth are welcome every Wednesday from 2 - 4pm at the Family Kitchen. We'll prepare components of the meals, learn food prep and kitchen tips, and help both the Family Kitchen volunteers AND those who come to eat. A win-win-win situation for sure!
Join us!Journey to Adulthood
For the middle and high school crowd, Journey to Adulthood is a 6-year program divided into three 2-year segments. Young adults receive carefully prepared, scripture-supported lessons in four areas: Self, Society, Sexuality and Spirituality.
Rite 13: 11-13 year olds. This class undergoes a Rite of Passage modeled after the Bar and Bat Mitzvah. They are encouraged to be an active participant in their group and take on real commitments and roles in church such as choir, acolytes, lectors and ushers.
J2A: 14-16 year olds. This group receives lessons from the same four areas but they carry more responsibility for the direction of the group and have larger roles in ministries of the church. This group culminates their two years together with a spiritual pilgrimage. Three of our J2A teens and their group leaders made a pilgrimage to Ireland in June 2010. Some of the pre-information is found at this link: 2010 Pilgrimage
Rite 13 & J2A meet from 9:30-10:20 Sunday mornings from September through May.
YAC: 16-18 year olds. Young Adults in Church participants are offered a mentor for support and assistance in navigating the years of huge decisions and finding one's ministry in the church and the world.Quest
Discovery is the theme of Quest, Trinity’s 'rotations model' for kids age 9-11. Each 5 - 6 week rotation will give the kids an opportunity to learn hands on skills, deepen their knowledge and understanding of the Bible, and have creative individual and group experiences in the Christian context.
Registration Forms
We start up again on September 12th, 2010 with the children and youth programs: Godly Play (3 - 8), Quest (9 - 11), Rite 13 (11 - 14), J2A (14 - 16) and YAC (16 - 18).
We'll have forms available for download in late August.
Meanwhile, come to our 10:30 am service. We have Nursery Care for infants to 3 years of age and Chapel for 3 - 11 year-olds.
And, as always, all children are welcome to attend church with their families. We can handle a bit of chaos!
